    The University of Penα£←λnsylvania (commonly referred to as∞< Penn) is a private, Ivy League research univers<≤←ity located in Philadelphia. Pen¶ ♦n was founded in 1740 by Benjamin Franklin, the s'≈¥→cientist and Statesman of the United ♥&¥÷States. The University is considered the forth-olα×&×dest institution of higher eduδ♣​cation in the United States as well as the firε→st modern university in™÷ the United States with hi‌ s education aim to train yo &♥ ung people for leadership in business, gov≥↕÷ernment and public service. Penn π¶was also home to many educationaπ↔l innovations. The first S∞ chool of Medicine in North Americ♦×αa (Perelman School of Medicine, 1765), the fi® αrst collegiate business school (Wh∞π±arton School, 1881) and the fir<→st student union – these first orga∏€nizations were all born at Pe✔αnn. Penn offers a broad range o∑' f academic programs. It is particularly δ×♥εwell known for its me♦∑ dical school and dental school which are ¥←→↑best schools in the US. Among it ₽φs professional and graduate schools, the schools  ↕§σof education, economics,↕↔ history, law, and English are ranked iλΩn the top 10 national₩≤♥®ly.

     

    There are nearly 25,000 studen≠♥‍ts at Penn. The concep♦•✔πt of Elite education which is based on small-✔ ‌↑size class teaching is stiφ✔∞ll reserved. The College of α$™Arts and Science is the largest of the under↓ש∑graduate schools, enrolling 6,000 of tσλhe University's 10,000 undergraduates.
