Burns College of Engineering, University of'' California Riverside (BCOE) is on≈₽¶εe of the top engineering schools in ←>the US. GPP is a one-year program∏♠ providing students with₹÷¶ strong academic background with opportunities t€♠&™o study at BCOE for the final year of unde∞₽δrgraduate level, as well as opportunities to s&↓γ®tudy further at BOCE at graduate level.
Students who have com¶¶©pleted 3 years at USIEA's partner Chinese un∑€₹₩iversities and have met¥€♦ the academic and langua¶♥ge requirements for UCR will parti₩ cipate in one year oφ§∏>f upper level undergraduate study at BCOE. Students eligible for this program will h↔∏♥ave completed at leas Ωt three years of courφ↕®se work for degree completion at one of USIE∞ε™A’s China partn∏® ₩er universities. Students will undertake 6 mont σ☆hs of study at UCR Extension to gain a 1γ∏$≤5-unit TESOL Certificate, which will allow s<φtudents to transfer 8 credits ↑λ±±towards UCR Graduate School of Education Master₩≥•δ’s in Education (emphasis in TESOL) prλ★∞₩ogram. There will be 3 stages t↕♦hat students will go↕☆ through to get Master’s in Education degr≈ γee:
>> Stage One: Students study in Chinα a for at least three years;
>> Stage Two: Students ♥<↑φwho have met the academic an♠©<πd language requirements for UCR₽β★§ Extension TESOL certificate w≈©≈≠ill participate in two quarters•π of certificate-level stu≥&dy at UCR Extension, leading to a TES ↑←®OL Certificate;
>> Stage Three: St₩δφ★udents accepted to the GSOE M.Ed. TESOL e €mphasis will become matricul§€≈÷ated degree students at UC≈↓R in Fall quarter following ce≈∞☆rtificate completion. It will take o ×ne year (three quarters) before students c®λ© an get Master’s in Education degree from G¥↔SOE;
>> Stage Four (optional): All stu☆÷dents who successfully complete the UCR GSOE M₹↔aster’s in Educa&₹©tion TESOL emphasis with a minimu≈ φσm of 9 months continuous stu≤↔≈∞dy are eligible for Optio>§nal Practical Training, which allow✔∏☆s students to undertγ<ake paid work in their field in the USA•¥™♣ for one year.
